Medals made in 3D in connection with a race organised by Linköping Science Park.

3D medals for Mjärdevistafetten 2025

October 10, 2025

Innovation meets sports and technology

3D printing has quickly become a valuable tool in marketing, events and product development. The technology enables customized solutions – from personalized awards and specially designed figurines to functional prototypes – with high precision and short lead times.

Ahead of the Mjärdevistafetten 2025, organized by Linköping Science Park, we at AM Printservice were commissioned to produce unique anniversary medals. The result was a series of medals made of PA12 nylon with HP Multi Jet Fusion technology, lacquered in gold, silver and bronze.

3D printing for events and marketing

When design freedom and speed are crucial, 3D printing becomes an effective alternative to traditional methods. The technology provides full flexibility in design and makes it possible to produce smaller series without expensive tooling costs.

For companies in events and marketing, this means that you can:

  • Develop unique medals, awards and promotional products
  • Test new shapes, materials and surface treatments
  • Combine function and aesthetics in the same product
  • Reduce material waste and shorten production times

For the Mjärdevista medallion, we chose a durable material with high impact resistance. Each medal was hand-finished with varnish in three colors to give an exclusive and durable surface.

Part of Linköping Science Park's innovation environment

Linköping Science Park is a hub for technology and entrepreneurship where more than 600 companies collaborate. It is home to global players such as Sectra, Actia and Magna, as well as fast-growing startups such as Epishine and Polar Light.

As part of this environment, AM Printservice contributes with knowledge in additive manufacturing and helps companies translate ideas into functional and aesthetically sophisticated solutions.

From digital model to finished product

We combine experience in 3D production, post-processing and material selection with an understanding of the customer's design and functional requirements. We print in plastic, metal and flexible materials and can handle everything from single prototypes to series production.

We collaborate with customers in industry, events, design and art with a focus on quality, sustainability and delivery reliability.

The future tools for creative production

3D printing is no longer just a complement to traditional manufacturing: it is a central part of how modern companies work with development, communication and design. The technology enables local production, reduces climate impact and opens up new expressions.

We at AM Printservice look forward to more collaborations where additive manufacturing is used to create value, whether it's a trade show product, a work of art or a complex technical project.
