3D printing techniques

We use several different printing technologies depending on the material, precision requirements and production volume. Each technology has its specific strengths and we always base our choices on your needs.

Alignment Step technology

HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF)

HP's industrial 3D printing technology for plastic parts. MJF builds parts layer by layer using a melting agent and infrared energy, providing fast production with consistent quality. Our main technology for PA12 and PA12 GB.

SLS (Selective Laser Sintering)

Laser-based technology that sinters plastic powder without the need for support structures. SLS produces strong, functional parts with good mechanical strength. Good for end products and series in nylon materials.

DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering)

Melts metal powder layer by layer with laser in controlled atmosphere. DMLS provides high density and mechanical properties on par with conventionally manufactured metal parts. Our main technology for all metal materials including stainless steel, aluminium and titan.

STEP™

New technology from Evolve Additive Solutions that combines high precision with robust parts in ABS plastic. STEP offers properties similar to injection moulding and is ideal for mass production.

FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling)

Simple and cost-effective technology where molten plastic filaments are laid layer by layer. FDM is a good option for simple prototypes and concept models in materials such as ABS, PETG and TPU.

3D printing in plastic

Our plastic materials cover everything from durable industrial components to flexible seals and ESD-protected parts. Depending on strength, temperature resistance and functional requirements, we recommend the right material for your application.

3D printed industrial parts. Example of production on demand

PA12 (Nylon)

Durable and chemical-resistant thermoplastic material. PA12 is our most widely used material and is suitable for everything from functional prototypes to end products in harsh operating environments. Good mechanical strength and dimensional stability.

PA12 GB (glass beads)

PA12 reinforced with glass beads for increased stiffness and dimensional stability. The material's lower shrinkage makes it particularly suitable for parts with tight tolerances and flat surfaces, such as covers and mounting plates.

ABS

Easy-to-machine and impact-resistant material with good surface finish. ABS is an excellent choice for prototypes, housings and functional parts that require finishing or painting. Printed with STEP technology.

3D printing in metal

We manufacture metal parts with DMLS/LPBF technology from metal powder. The result is components with mechanical properties on par with conventionally manufactured parts, but with the freedom to create complex geometries that cannot be achieved by milling or casting.

Stainless steel 316L

Corrosion resistant and strong with good weldability. Suitable for components in medical, food production, energy and marine environments.

Aluminum

Low weight combined with good thermal conductivity and strength. Used in designs where weight optimisation is critical, for example in automotive, aerospace and refrigeration applications.

Titanium

High strength-to-weight ratio, excellent biocompatibility and corrosion resistance. Titanium is the material of choice for aerospace, defence and medical implants.

Why choose us for 3D printing

On-demand manufacturing Replace your physical stock with digital 3D models. We produce parts when you need them - no minimum quantities, no inventory costs. Read more about print on demand.

Optimisation of your parts We help you optimise designs for 3D printing. The result: lower weight, lower cost and better performance. We support with 3D modelling and CAD.

Complex geometries Additive manufacturing enables shapes that cannot be produced by milling, turning or moulding. We produce parts with internal structure, organic shapes and consolidated assemblies.

A partner throughout the life cycle From the first prototype and zero series to ongoing series production. We are your permanent supplier for additive manufacturing.

3D printing and materials is an area that AM Printservice is exploring in collaboration with the Innovative Materials Arena, IMA.
